Keith Eric Davis, owner of BUD-Botanical Urban Design, has been creating floral and container designs in Chicago for over 20 years. He prides himself on using nature to create art for all to appreciate.
He got his start in the horticulture field helping his parents cultivate a large vegetable garden on their farm in Ohio. As his love for plants grew, he began to create ornamental sections in the garden, which inspired his love of flowers and plants that he still has today.
He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Ornamental Horticulture from The Ohio State University. He was one of 35 college seniors from across the country to be selected to work at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida for the interior landscape division of their horticulture department. Upon leaving Disney World and graduating from OSU, he landed in Chicago, where he held various jobs in the industry, from garden center management to floral design positions with several event companies and florists in the Chicago area.
BUD-botanical urban design got its start as more and more friends asked for his help in creating wedding florals and container gardens on balconies, porches, patios and rooftops across Chicagoland. The company name originates from the nickname his father called him as a boy, and grew into the perfect acronym for his design work. BUD not only focuses on container garden and floral design work, but also thrives with a plethora of holiday design throughout the year. He was the lead designer for the Christmas Tree Promenade at Chicago’s Winter Wonderfest at Navy Pier for several years, and now has holiday, weddings, events and container clients throughout Chicagoland.
Being a firm believer that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, Keith works with each client to create personal, beautiful, and creative botanical pieces that tell their story, their way.
