Beth Barnett founded Larkspur in 1994 with a vision to create nature-inspired, seasonal floral designs for weddings, events and retail clients. In addition to expanding into retail in 2002, Beth began growing flowers on her sustainable flower farm in Buchanan, Michigan. Larkspur Farm produces annual and perennial botanicals using sustainable and organic farming methods with over 50 types of well-loved and unique flower varieties. All the seeds planted are organic and heirloom stock, and the resulting blooms are colorful, long-lasting and beautifully textured. Larkspur’s flower farm is committed to low-till methods, uses organic and naturally found soil amendments, and liberal use of cover crop and co-planting for weed control. Today, Larkspur has transformed from a retail shop into a modern studio space offering floral designs to the Chicago area and southwest Michigan, as well as wholesale and retail sales of freshly cut Larkspur Farm flowers. Larkspur is a proud member of the Chicago Green Wedding Alliance, Slow Flowers and The Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers.
